Dedication
Mom I dedicate the arena to you as once again you have helped me even after you're gone. It is a dream come true for both of us. How often did we talk of me having an arena and now its here.

Isn't it so amazing that the sand went in on Friday and Saturday March 2nd and 3rd and now it is ready to ride.

My first ride will be Tuesday March 6th   2007 in honour of you and your birthday that day. The first birthday that you and I cannot celebrate together I dedicate to you with that first ride. I know you'll be there with me.

I love you Mom, I miss you every day.
THE FIRST RIDE......

March 6, 2007 I woke up to -40, frozen water at the barn, vehicles not starting but today is the day for the first ride in the Shirley Arena at Shalar Quarter Horses. It was still -25 as I saddled up Storm to head out for our birthday celebration. The wind outside was very brisk but as we stepped inside that building WOW what a difference! As Storm and I loped around my face burned slightly from the cold but none the less we were having a wonderful time! Bailey was not to be outdone as she came through for the party as well. Happy Birthday Mom, we celebrated for you! Love always, Laurie Storm and Bailey (and Ray taking the pics! )
Winnie the Pooh
POEM FOR POOH

For you Winnie I miss you!

As i wake up in the morning
And head out to the porch
I see a little spaniel there
That carries her love like a torch!

She was Mom's special little girl
But now that Mom's gone
She's giving me a whirl

Down the stairs, to the barn
Chasing the kitten and their yarn
Deaf as a doormat, but one eye can see
Finding me wherever I am
Or wherever I be

I've watched you play: I've watched you roam
I'm so glad to have had you at my home

As I head to the porch early at dawn
I'll never believe that you're truly gone
Cause I'll know that your happy as happy can be
Sitting up there in heaven on Mom's strong knee.
